-
Do the pet doors come with a security door?
Hale pet doors are designed with a robust security door feature that guarantees safety and provides you with peace of mind. Made from high-density polyethylene, these doors withstand even the harshest weather conditions. They can be securely locked in place using a steel pin lock, effectively preventing unauthorized access when the pet door is not in use. Moreover, the security door improves energy efficiency and effectively blocks drafts. With Hale pet doors, you can confidently prioritize both security and quality.
-
How does the flap system work?
A flap system in pet doors features a flexible flap, usually made of plastic or vinyl, allowing pets to move in and out easily while helping maintain indoor climate control. Hinged at the top, it swings open with a gentle push and closes securely. Tucson Doggie Doors recommends a double-flap system for its superior insulation and energy efficiency, creating an air pocket that minimizes drafts and stabilizes indoor temperatures—especially beneficial in extreme weather conditions. Single-flap doors are available for interior installations. Contact us for a complimentary consultation to discover the ideal solution for your needs.
-
What is snake-proofing?
Snake-proofing involves identifying all possible entry points in your yard where snakes might gain access. To effectively create a barrier against snakes and other outside creatures, we use heavy-gauge galvanized-coated hardware mesh. This material is durable and can be buried underground to prevent snakes from burrowing beneath it. By thoroughly inspecting your property and sealing off these vulnerable areas, we significantly reduce the chances of snakes entering your yard. This proactive approach helps ensure a safer environment for both people and pets.
-
What is coyote proofing?
Coyote proofing refers to the measures taken to protect pets, livestock, and property from coyotes, which are common in Arizona. These measures include building secure enclosures for pets and using motion-activated lights or noise devices to deter coyotes from entering yards. The overall goal is to create a safer environment while respecting the natural wildlife in the region. We partner with Coyote Proof Dog Runs for dog kennels and runs, but we are also available to help customers find other solutions that best meet their needs.
-
Do you offer pet walking or pet sitting?

We specialize in a variety of pet-related construction and landscaping projects, offering customized solutions that enhance the comfort and enjoyment of your pets. Please note that we only offer pet-related services and do not provide any other construction or handyman services.
-
How far in advance do you schedule?
Consultations are scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance, pet door installations are scheduled 2-3 weeks in advance, and custom projects depend on various factors. Pet waste removal services begin at the time of contract.
-
Are dog doors safe from burglaries?
While not common, if you are worried about unauthorized access to your home via a pet door, start by selecting one with reinforced frames and secure locking mechanisms. Additionally, you can enhance safety by creating an enclosed area around the dog door for your pets. Installing motion sensors or alarms will alert you to any unauthorized entry, adding an extra layer of security. Finally, consider choosing an electronic dog door that only opens when activated by a microchip or collar. By taking these precautions, you can improve your home's safety while still providing convenient access for your pets.
